WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The role of Research Engineering Student (Optics, Physics) is to take part in research, analysis and development of the optical design for different sensors solutions and service subsystems of banknote and coin authentication and recycling systems in order to acquire knowledge and skills sufficient for the associate engineer level.

The R&D team primarily focuses on new solutions in the field of banknote and coin authentication, which include all stages from the analysis of the physical properties of the research object and the development of appropriate sensors, to the final electronic-mechanical design including FW and SW support. Similar work at the intersection of different fields of science and engineering is always interesting and provide a good opportunity to quickly improve knowledge and develop your skills. At the same time, the activity of a research engineer requires maximum dedication and commitment. We not only share our knowledge and support other departments but also continuously improve ourselves.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Continuous improvement of knowledge and skills needed in company practical activity
  • Comply with company policy and follow mentor’s instructions*
  • Simulate, evaluate and test sensor designs for different sensors solutions and service subsystems of banknote and coin authentication and recycling systems
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve various optical, hardware problems. Implement and deploy change requests and enhancements to further improve the existing equipment
  • Interact with design engineers through the course of project to ensure the design integrity

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, have a keen eye for detail, understand nuances by asking the right kind of questions, be willing to dive into key strategic initiatives and possess the drive to make the solution a reality. This role is both, compelling and rewarding as it positions you well in your career progression in general management and other cross-functional management roles.

  • Junior or Senior level student majoring in Optical Engineering, Physics or similar engineering discipline
  • Basic knowledge of physics, optics and lighting engineering, electronics, mechanics, electromagnetic phenomena, thermal phenomena.
  • Pluses:
    • Basic knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment.
    • Basic experience in simulation using Zemax OpticStudio or similar software packages.
    • Basic experience in mechanical design using Solidworks or similar CAD system.
    • Basic experience in experimental and signal data processing with MatLab.
    • Basic experience in embedded systems with emphasis on sensor technology.
  • Understanding schematic diagrams, flowcharts, mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with writing of documentation that explains operating principles, design details and limitations for a project/product.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic soldering skills
