Position Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Supply Chain) 9 Months FTC

Location: Oldham, Manchester

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for a 9 Month FTC. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and managing the material strategy for our site, working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Commodity Management, and other Strategic Sourcing Specialists in Manchester. Your primary focus will be on inventory management and driving continuous improvement within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager, Commodity Management, and other Strategic Sourcing Specialists to define and deploy the material strategy for the site.
  • Manage inventory metrics and develop action plans to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Implement and manage Supplier Logistic Agreements (SLAs) with suppliers.
  • Communicate the high-level material strategy to local and corporate management on a regular basis.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supply chain through projects, JDI's, Kaizen events, and the utilization of Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Work with other Strategic Sourcing Specialists to manage risk for the site, including freight, design, parts, tools, and material shortages.
  • Collaborate with other Strategic Sourcing Specialists to deploy commodity/supplier strategies from an inventory standpoint.
  • Manage critical issues escalated by Buyers and coordinate with Buyer/Planners to review, audit, approve safety stock, minimum order quantity, lead time, and Kanban sizing.
  • Ensure supplier on-time delivery by measuring, reporting, and working with suppliers to improve their performance.
  • Monitor and manage consignment/sunset clauses with suppliers, ensuring timely reconciliation.
  • Work with Buyer/Planners to maintain master data in SAP, ensuring accuracy and ownership.
  • Execute material cancellations with suppliers as part of the Purchase Order Management Process.
  • Support the End Of Life strategy for products, working with product management and Buyer/Planners to mitigate risk of excess and obsolescence.
  • Drive CBS within the Supply Chain team, focusing on Material Replenishment Strategy and PFEP (Plan for every part) to optimize inventory holding on-site and improve inventory turns.

Qualifications Required:

  • Experience purchasing and supplier management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High sense of urgency and proactive approach.
